Curatorial & Artist Fellowship 2025

The Dawn Eleven Contemporary Art Foundation (DeCA) is launching its Curatorial & Artist Fellowship 2025, a dynamic initiative designed to support emerging curators and artists who are working at the intersection of diaspora identity, cultural memory, and experimental art practices.

About the Fellowship

This fellowship offers financial support, professional development, mentorship, and production resources to help fellows realize ambitious projects that align with DeCA’s mission of fostering cross-cultural dialogue and socially engaged art. Fellows will gain hands-on experience in exhibition curation and project development while engaging with DeCA’s network of artists, curators, and institutions.

What We Offer

  • Project Support & Funding

    • Project budget to support exhibition and artistic production (materials, installation, exhibition design, etc.).

    • Opportunity to curate a group exhibition or develop a solo project.

    • Full technical and production support, including installation assistance.
       

  • Mentorship & Professional Development

    • One-on-one mentorship from senior curators, established artists, and visiting advisors.

    • Workshops & seminars on exhibition planning, public programming, and critical writing.

    • Studio visits and collaboration opportunities with DeCA artists.
       

  • Public Engagement & Exposure

    • Features on DeCA’s digital platforms (website, newsletter, social media).

    • Introduction to DeCA’s professional network and institutional partners.

    • Contribution to the fellowship catalog with a curatorial essay or artist statement.

Who Should Apply?

Curators & Artists:

  • Emerging curators and artists with 0–3 years of experience.

  • Interest in experimental practices, diaspora narratives, and socially engaged art.

  • Commitment to developing inclusive, thought-provoking exhibitions or projects.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis based on:

  • Conceptual depth and relevance to DeCA’s mission.

  • Artistic/curatorial innovation and clarity.

  • Feasibility of proposed projects within the fellowship timeline.

  • Commitment to community engagement and critical dialogue.

  • Include the following materials:

    • CV or Resume (PDF format)

    • Portfolio or Work Samples (PDF or website link)

    • Project Proposal (Max 2 pages) – Outline your curatorial or artistic vision, how it aligns with DeCA’s mission, and the feasibility of execution.

Finalists will be interviewed on a rolling basis, and selected fellows will be announced toward the end of May.
